Monaco GP Qualifying Result: Charles Leclerc takes pole position, Lewis Hamilton finishes seventh

Monaco GP

Max Verstappen finished on the second position in the qualifying session of Monaco GP on Saturday. The Dutch driver continued his impressive form, as he also managed to finish P1 in the third practice session. However, it was Charles Leclerc who finished on the pole position on Saturday. This was Ferrari’s first pole position since Mexican GP 2019.

On his final lap of the Q3 session, Charles Leclerc crashed into the barrier, with just 18 seconds remaining. As a result, red flags were displayed, which meant that both, Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas failed to better his timing. The Red Bull driver was on a flying lap before Leclerc went into the barriers. There will be an enquiry in regards to the Ferrari driver’s clash, as a gear box damage could hand him a five place penalty.
