With a new season under new regulations about to begin, Ferrari believe they can challenge for the first time in 3 seasons. The Italian team led by Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will be hoping to continue their upwards streak having finished 3rd in the constructor’s championship last season.
Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz had a praiseworthy debut season with Ferrari. The Spaniard had a wonderful season with the Prancing Horse, scoring 4 podiums and finishing 5th in the World Drivers Championship. This was Sainz’s highest finish in the season.
The Spaniard does believe he has a long way to go before winning the World title just like his former teammate Max Verstappen. In the 2015 season, Sainz drove for Scuderia Toro Rosso where he partnered with Verstappen. He shared his admiration for the Dutchman in a conversation with Corriere.it.

Carlos Sainz on Max Verstappen: “He can be fast in any situation”
In a recent interview, when asked if he could challenge for the title with Ferrari, Carlos answered “no. It was a logical answer because I still had a lot to learn and a strong opponent. However, I was also firmly convinced at the time that I could do it. Drivers like Leclerc, Norris, Verstappen and Hamilton, however, have no weaknesses.”
The Spaniard however had good things to say about his former teammate Max. ”I admire the fact that he can be fast in any situation and the courage he shows in trying his own route, such as a crucial overtaking move. I don’t hate anything about him,” he said.
Sainz joined Ferrari on a two-year contract from the 2021 season partnering with Charles Leclerc and replacing four-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel. His ability to adapt quickly to Ferrari in such a short span and with consistent performances was widely applauded.
