Throughout his career, Tsitsipas has shown plenty of fighting spirit in high-pressure situations. And without any doubt, he admires someone with the same mentality as him.

The player, while drawing and highlighting the parallels of focus and mental strength between F1 and tennis, said, “Verstappen is a fighter and someone who believes in his own abilities.” Tsitsipas praising the Dutch’s determination said, “I can be more like him. I think I’ll win more.”

There have been numerous incidents where Max Verstappen has shown determination over his career. Most notably was his performance in Abu Dhabi GP 2021. Albeit controversial and disputed, Max Verstappen did put in a flying final lap in the finale, which made him the champion of the season.

A non-controversial and under pressure moment for Max was the Russian GP of the 2021 season. The Dutch driver was in a battle with Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton for the WDC title. Max Verstappen started P20 and finished P2, despite the heavy rain that had fallen towards the end of the race.
