‘Keep Rising!’ Mercedes drop big Lewis Hamilton update amidst retirement rumors

Lewis Hamilton

The most successful team of the Formula 1 Hybrid era (2014-2021), winning all 8 Constructors’ Championships, the Mercedes F1 team is the pictorial representation of a brute force. The team remains the favorites to dominate in the upcoming season and era as well. But thanks to the last season finale at Abu Dhabi, the team is facing a challenge. While “both” the drivers are poised to give media interviews on the car launch event on 18th February 2022, the team has refrained from naming the drivers in case there’s a change in lineups.

The team’s social media has been actively posting Hamilton’s pictures but has refused to deny the retirement rumors. With no confirmation from the team or driver himself, the clouds of uncertainty still hover Hamilton’s return to the sport.

But with this post, however, the team has shown that they stand by their champion driver. The team would be looking forward to their driver returning on the grid and helping the young George Russell, who’ll be making his debut for the Silver Arrows.

After Lewis Hamilton lost the championship battle against Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, credited to race director Michael Masi’s controversial decision, the former driver hadn’t made any public statement or appearance until a week ago. The driver and the team believe that they were snubbed of the title and decided to appeal against it, only to withdraw it later.

Due to the absence of the seven-time F1 world champion, the rumors of him retiring caught fire. It also invited comments from prominent F1 celebrities such as ex- F1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone, Red Bull chief Christian Horner, and Williams chief Jost Capito.
