Max Verstappen not as complete as Lewis Hamilton: Jenson Button
Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are engaged in a close championship battle this year. Verstappen lead the championship by just 4 points, after winning the Monaco GP. Lewis Hamilton finished seventh at Monaco GP, and slipped to the second spot.
The duo have taken their rivalry to another level, as they seem to exchange words off the track. Max Verstappen stated that he does his talking on the tracks, after winning the Monaco GP, a comment which Lewis Hamilton did not take well.
Jenson Button, former F1 champion believes that Max Verstappen’s performance so far will give Lewis Hamilton extra motivation to perform better.
“When you’re winning, it’s difficult to retire,” Button told PlanetF1. “I think this year is extra motivation because Max is there and Max is super talented, his natural ability is just insane,” he added.
Lewis Hamilton is the most complete driver: Jenson Button
Jenson Button believes that Lewis Hamilton is the most complete driver, and believes that the Briton’s natural ability is just insane. He believes that Max Verstappen has incredible talent, but on the same hand, he is not a complete driver like Lewis Hamilton.
“I think Lewis is the most complete driver and don’t forget natural ability isn’t something you’ve worked for, it’s something you’ve been given,” said Button.
“For me, a driver that works hard and develops his skills is the best driver in the world, and I think that Lewis has really worked and fine-tuned his skills and at the moment he is the guy to beat, he is the best in the world. Max, with his natural ability, is able to challenge Lewis, but he’s not as complete as Lewis,” he added.
“One, because he has never won a World Championship and has never been through that rollercoaster, and two, because he doesn’t have the experience of Lewis and Lewis has put in the hours, he’s put in the time to develop as a driver,” the Briton continued.
