One of the chaotic and the most controversial events which went down in the history of F1 and is remembered by even to this date was sparked off by a race incident involving Nicholas Latifi.

The Williams driver brought out the safety car late into the race, giving Max Verstappen an opportunity to win with a change in procedure, passing Lewis Hamilton on the last lap. Followed by an apology by Nicholas to his team for the crash, Nicholas received a lot of threats and criticism for his inevitable role played towards the end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The turn 14 incident took a tole at Latifi’s mental health with all the hate and death threats directed only towards him on social media for Lewis Hamilton losing his eight-time World Championship title. With the Canadian later on revealing his hardship pertaining to the time when he was/is the most hated person on the internet.

Ahead of the 2022 season, Latifi has confirmed himself confident from the above events occurred in December with the main focus on being at his best performance for the races ahead of him.

“I already feel it is behind me, it was a tricky few days with everything going on afterwards but I mean, it’s part of the sport.”

“It was kind of what I was expecting to happen as I mentioned in the post but I’m past it now and for sure, I guess once the season picks up and gives something more important for people to talk about and focus on [it will be forgotten].But it’s long in the past for me now,” said Latifi.

With the launch of VF-22 by Hass on Friday, this week will be set to lift covers of Aston Martin, Red bull and McLaren while Williams is yet to announce their launch dates.
