Lewis Hamilton
Mercedes‘ driver and one of the greatest drivers to ever drive in F1, Lewis Hamilton, is ready for his 16th season in the top motorsport. In his lustrous career of fifteen years so far, the driver has driven just for two teams- McLaren and Mercedes.
After the rumors of Hamilton’s retirement following the fiasco in the Abu Dhabi GP of the 2021 season, the driver and the team have announced the comeback of the seven-time world champion. The driver is said to be in better health post his return to social media and was called “recharged” by the former F1 world champion Jenson Button.
Mercedes has been a huge part of Hamilton’s career as it’s the Briton’s ninth season with the Brackley-based outfit. And to celebrate their driver’s achievement, the team shared this:
Lewis Hamilton’s career in past
In 2007, Lewis Hamilton became the first black driver in F1. The driver signed for McLaren and drove alongside the defending world champion, Fernando Alonso. In his debut season, the driver impressed everyone and lost the F1 world championship against the then Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen by a single point.
Next year, the Briton defeated the title contender Felipe Massa and won his first of many future championships. However, in his following years in McLaren, Hamilton didn’t succeed in winning a WDC.
Then he signed for Mercedes in 2013, replacing another legend of the sport Michael Schumacher. And as they, the rest is history. Hamilton went on win six more WDC titles in the hybrid era and just missed out on his eighth overall in 2021.
It’d be fair to say that Lewis Hamilton has had one of the most dominating careers in the sport so far. And the driver has used his recognition and influence beyond the sport by supporting various charitable causes. The Briton is more than just a driver and an influencer.
