Monaco GP Qualifying: Lando Norris goes fourth quickest in Q1, Sergio Perez finishes eighth

Valtteri Bottas finished P1 in the first qualifying session at the Monaco GP. The Finnish driver recorded a time of 1:10:938, and outraced his Mercedes teammate, Lewis Hamilton. Charles Leclerc continued his impressive start to the weekend, as he finished on the second spot. Carlos Sainz had finished second in all three practice sessions in lead up to qualifying on Saturday. However, the Spaniard could only manage to finish fifth in the Q1 session.
As for Max Verstappen, he finished on the third spot, whereas, his Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez finished on the eight spot. Sebastian Vettel managed to sneak into the Q2 session, after finishing on the 15th spot. George Russell also managed to progress into the next session, as he finished on the 14th position.
Fernando Alonso out in Q1 session of Monaco GP
Yuki Tsunoda, Fernando Alonso, Latifi, Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher were the five drivers who missed out on a spot in the Q2 session.
Lewis Hamilton struggled a bit in the Q1 session, as he managed to finish on the seventh spot. He abandoned his final lap in Q1 session, as he made an error in the middle sector. Pierre Gasly also managed to put in a decent performance, as he finished on the eighth spot.
Fernando Alonso will be disappointed with his performance on Saturday, but will look to perform well on Sunday. The Spaniard has won the Monaco GP on two occasions in the past.
