Aston Martin F1 team is entering its second year in F1 post the rebranding of the Racing Point F1 team in 2021. The team has the Canadian Lance Stroll and four-time F1 world champion, the German Sebastian Vettel. The team has also brought on Mike Krack as the team principal for the 2022 season, post the resignation of the old boss Otmar Szafnauer.
Last season, the team finished P7, with just 77 points to their name. The highest position for the team was 2nd, grabbed by Sebastian Vettel in Baku, Azerbaijan. Apart from this and Vettel’s race in Hungary, the team wasn’t as good as they should’ve been. The team has also launched their 2022 challenger, AMR22.
Lance Stroll, in an interview earlier, made clear that he’ll be loyal to the team and believes in the project. The driver added, “The new factory is coming up. A lot of people are coming on board, so I think it’s great right here.”

For Vettel and Aston Martin, 2021 was more of a buffer transitional year, where the expectations from both ends weren’t high. It was understood that the focus would be more on the new regulations and the new car.
While talking to AutoHebdo, Vettel said, “This year is going to be a big test for us. We will see how good we are because as I said last year, we couldn’t prove anything, we were focused on 2022 with few updates to our car for 2021. Today we have to deal with new regulations, new cars and I hope we can show what we are worth.”
The driver would be hoping to make the most of his experience and adapt to the new car as early as possible. If done so, the German can surely rope in a few podiums along with Stroll for Aston Martin.
