‘Surprised that he avoided making a mess at the end!’ Carlos Sainz applauds Lewis Hamilton’s conduct despite Abu Dhabi GP ending
The Scuderia Ferrari, Carlos Sainz, has nothing but words of praise for the seven time world champion Lewis Hamilton after what transpired in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Grand Prix looked like a scene from a movie as Max Verstappen snatched the title in the very last lap.
We can go on debating on whether it was the right call by the FIA or not but what was left behind was heartbreaking defeat for the former world champion. It is said that one’s true colors come out in the wake of defeat and not triumph.
It can be safely said that Lewis Hamilton passed the test with flying colors. As soon as he came out of his car, the first thing that he did was to congratulate Max Verstappen. It wouldn’t have been easy for him as he’s a winner but he decided to show class and set an example for everyone watching the sport.
Carlos Sainz believes Lewis Hamilton showed class when he avoided making a mess at the end of the race.
In an interview when Carlos sainz was asked as to, “In Hamilton’s shoes in Abu Dhabi, how would you have felt?”
He replied, “Very bad. And I was surprised at how he avoided making a mess at the end of the race. Losing the title on the last lap like that is really hard to accept.”
He further said, “I respect him more than ever for the way he managed to behave. We exchanged a few words on the podium and he was really struggling,” said Sainz.
Sir Lewis Hamilton has time and again showed his character whether it was on or off the track. He’s set an example to for his fans and anyone who watches Formula 1 or any other sport for that matter.
The rivalry between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton was one for the ages but Lewis showed that it’s important to fight hard to be the winner but it’s equally important to show respect to the opponent once it’s all done and dusted and that’s exactly what he did when he was on the receiving end of a controversial Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
