Fortnite New Update: 18.20 Patch notes, New War Effort Weapons

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 is currently in full bloom and a new update is already on the shores. Fortnite has already launched its recent update, the Fortnite New Update v18.20, after the release of Fortnite season 8. Fortnite 18.20 has also increased the amount of XP rewarded by Shared Quests, alongside the new War Effort. We take a look at all the cogs for the new Fortnite Update v18.20 and the new features it brings with it.

Fortnite New Update: 18.20

Fortnite is a very popular battle royale game published by Epic Games. It probably has one of the biggest fan bases and player bases in the whole world. Recently, they had released the new Fortnite update which takes a turn in the game revolving around the War effort. In the official blog, it has been informed that the Fortnite New Update 18.20 also pits two new weapons in the War Effort, the Combat Assault Rifle, and Combat SMG.

Downtime for the Fortnite New Update v18.20 patch has begun on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at around 1 am PT / 4 am ET / 9 am BST and it has successfully deployed already. Two popular weapons, the Combat Assault Rifle and the Combat SMG have been teased in the v18.20 update that will face off in a vote as part of the War Effort to see which one gets released first. These two weapons have “tight bullet spread and exceptional power” but suffer from strong recoil. Players can place their vote by donating Gold Bars to a Donation Board.

Whichever of the two weapons reaches 100% funded first will be made available on the island once again. The victor will be found as floor loot and will be obtained from Chests and Supply Drops as well. Moreover, repeatable Shared Quests to reward more XP has been updated.
