Barring any unnecessary hiccups in its course, Roman Reigns is set to return in the main event of WrestleMania for a record-breaking 11th time in his career. He will challenge for the World Heavyweight title, which is currently held by CM Punk, who has a major roadblock coming February 28 at the Elimination Chamber, as he’s slated for a title defense against Finn Balor.

Although it’s going to be a great contest between Punk and Balor, remotely no one is expecting WWE to pull a rabbit out of the hat by having ‘The Prince’ take the title off Punk. The company is fully expected to run Reigns vs. Punk in Las Vegas this April and is already branding it as one of the greatest main events in WrestleMania history.

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle was recently asked to pick a side between the two. Speaking to USA Today Sports, the 32-year-old NFL star mentioned that he’s never met ‘The OTC’, whom Kittle noted has been openly supportive of the 49ers. But since he’s yet to find out what Reigns is like in person, it’s not easy for Kittle to root for ‘The Tribal Chief’.

What’s tough for me is Roman Reigns is a Niners fan, but I’ve never met him before. He’s like one of the only wrestlers I’ve never met. So, you know, hopefully if I see him, I can spear him, sneak up on him. CM Punk has always been incredibly kind to me. But the tough thing about that is I acknowledge that Roman Reigns is number one. And so I think Roman Reigns is going to get it.

‘The People’s Tight End’ joked about spearing the Anoa’i family wrestler if they see each other. Punk, on the other hand, has been incredibly kind to Kittle. The 7-time Pro Bowler still acknowledged Reigns as the number one, so by that logic he predicted ‘The Head of the Table’ to own the night at WrestleMania 42.

At this point, it doesn’t look like Reigns will have a match before his mega clash with Punk. The OTC’s previous singles match ended in a loss to “Big” Bronson Reed last October at Crown Jewel. Reigns next competed in the WarGames match but ended up on the losing side.

Current TNA tag team champions The Hardy Boyz have also dropped their predictions for Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk at WrestleMania. The legendary wrestling duo recently joined Bill Apter on his 1Wrestling YouTube channel. Jeff Hardy immediately sided with Reigns when asked about who gets it at ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’.

On the other hand, Matt Hardy gave a more balanced answer by taking The Tribal Chief’s part-time WWE schedule into account. He also picked the 40-year-old Samoan stalwart should he commit to working a lot of dates over the summer.

‘The Sensei of Mattitude’ said he would go with Punk if it’s revealed that Reigns would be involved in outside filming ventures like he has been in the past few months.

While there’s no update on The OTC’s post-WrestleMania status, he’s going to show up on five more editions of Monday Night Raw leading to WrestleMania 42. WWE has already rolled out Reigns’ upcoming appearances starting 3/2 in Indianapolis to 3/16 in San Antonio, 3/23 in Boston, 3/30 at MSG in New York, and Raw before WrestleMania in Sacramento.

The fans must be eagerly waiting for Reigns to engage in more promo battles with Punk, as these men did a couple of weeks ago. Many fans hailed it as the best Reigns had looked on the mic in a very long time, that too against one of the greatest trash-talkers in wrestling history.

Last week on Raw, the ‘Best in the World’ addressed Reigns’ hatred for him by saying that the former Bloodline boss simply hated the fact that he couldn’t stop what Punk has been striving for—greatness.
