Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden entering NBA Health and Safety Protocol puts Christmas Day clash in jeopardy

Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden

Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden are two of the latest payers to enter the NBA Health and Safety Protocol ahead of the action-packed Christmas Day schedule. Given the list of their roster availability, both these players have ended up making their respective team even more vulnerable as they entered the quarantine zone. To those who are not aware, the Bucks are already without key defender Brook Lopez and with Khris Middleton out due to knee injury, the Greek Freak’s absence could make the team slip major ranks in the conference standings.

On other hand, for the Steve Nash team, half of the Brooklyn Nets roster, including the Beard has entered the NBA Health and Safety Protocol on Tuesday. Now with Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden also entering the NBA Health and Safety protocol, the clash between the Bucks vs Nets has come in jeopardy as both teams have been left short-handed.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden’s situations hang a cloud of uncertainty above the NBA’s Christmas Day games, per NBA insider Marc Stein

“Even amid the NBA history being recorded tonight at MSG, impossible not to note that James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo both entered the league’s health and safety protocols today, putting their Christmas Day availability in jeopardy if both are sidelined for a full 10 days.”

With this being said, Milwaukee Bucks, Brooklyn Nets and Chicago Bulls’ camp have seen players entering the NBA Health and Safety Protocol. Now, with Cleveland Cavaliers being placed fourth in the conference standings, the team could sue this as an opportunity to improve their claim in the Eastern Conference.
