Glover Teixeira says Jon Jones can ease past Stipe Miocic, but will find the going tough against Francis Ngannou!
All eyes will be on Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou at UFC 260, as the heavyweight giants collide in a title clash at the UFC Apex. But once we have a winner, the attention will shift in the direction of the light-heavyweight king, who is expected to make his debut in the heavyweight division – Jon Jones. Jon Jones will possibly be making his debut against the winner of the Miocic – Ngannou bout.
Speaking about this in an interview with MMA Fighting, number one ranked light-heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira revealed that Jon Jones will probably have it easy against Stipe Miocic, but might struggle against the aggressiveness and the power of Francis Ngannou. It is to be noted that Teixeira once fought Jon Jones for the light-heavyweight title (and lost) at UFC 172.
‘The complicated one for him is Ngannou’ – Glover Teixeira
Teixeira was quoted as saying, “I think he beats Miocic. The complicated one for him is Ngannou – that aggressiveness. But if he gets past the first and second rounds, he beats Ngannou, too.”
Jon Jones hasn’t stepped inside the octagon, since his quite controversial win against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247. However, he has been actively training and packing on the muscle for the heavyweight division. He will be looking forward to kickstarting his heavyweight career with a bang.
