Tiger Woods, despite being a champion and relentless golfer on the field, is a great father and family man off the field. He has two children with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren with whom he shares a great bond as a father. He was married to Nordegren from 2003 until their tumultuous split in 2011.
Tiger Woods has one daughter and a son with Nordegren. Describing his children in 2011, he said, “I just love being with them and seeing what they’re doing, what they’re capable of doing – the joys, just the shifts of interest. It’s just fun. We have a great time together.”

Tiger Woods’ first child is his daughter Sam Alexis Woods who was born on June 18, 2007. Woods had revealed that he chose the name Sam for his firstborn in memory of his father who would always call him by this name when he was growing up. Woods was passionate about his children loving the same sport that he played and had held a golf club in Sam’s hands just when she was a few weeks old. Sam’s major interest now lies in soccer instead of golf. However, Woods has mentioned that his children’s attendance at his golf events is a major source of inspiration for him.
Sam had the chance to honor her father during his induction to the World Golf Hall of Fame. Speaking of the same and Tiger Woods’ unfortunate car accident in 2021, Sam says, “We didn’t know if you’d come home with two legs or not. Now, you’re not only about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you’re standing here on your own two feet. This is why you deserve this. You’re a fighter, you’ve defied the odds every time.”
Woods’ second child is his son Charlie Axel Woods, born February 8, 2009. Charlie had always shown an interest in golf and has participated in some tournaments alongside his father. According to Tiger Woods, Charlie would be immensely happy only if he had a stick and a ball to play with. Charlie and Tiger appeared alongside at the PNC Championship in 2022. His father constantly coaches him on his golfing technique and style. Woods has admitted that he would never pressure his children to choose golf for fear of them hating the game.
While Woods might have an incredible relationship with his children, he had one of the roughest splits with his children’s mother and ex-wife, Elin Nordengren. The couple split on account of Woods’ extra-marital affairs and other such conflicts in 2011. However, this has never come to affect his relationship with his children.
