The LIV Golf Series has received quite the backlash from golfers, enthusiasts as well as the PGA Tour and DP World Tour alike. However, there are some golfers who have come out supporting the new breakaway tour and amongst those is Padraig Harrington. At the JP McManus Pro-Am, Harrington told reporters that there was ‘lots and lots of room for competitions in the golfing world.’ He was one of the brave golfers that came ahead and said that LIV Golf might actually be good for the world.

“At the moment, there is disruption, there’s no doubt about it, but disruption is not bad at times,” the 50-year-old Irishman said according to Fox News. He feels like the PGA Tour has already strengthened their position in the golf word, while the European tour is doing the same. However, only time will tell according to Harrington which tour will end up where.

Explaining to the reporters he said, “Being here is a little bit like Christmas dinner or Thanksgiving for your family. You could have a sibling sitting there and — we’ll Americanize it: You could be a Republican; they could be a Democrat, but you’re friends at that particular time, and maybe politics isn’t mentioned at the dinner table. We are here for two days, and it’s great to see.”

Harrington is all set to participate in the Scottish Open, after finishing T30 at last week’s Irish Open with 7 under par. The LIV Series on the other hand finished their second event at Portland, where Branden Grace took the top prize with a $4.3 million win.
