2023 Players Championship prize money payout: Scottie Scheffler takes home biggest ever pay cheque of $4.5 million
The prize money payouts for the 2023 Players Championship are impressive to say the least, as the tournament has a $25 million prize purse.

Scottie Scheffler
The 2023 Players Championship has been a rather bizarre one to say the least. Everything that could go sideways has managed to go sideways. Yet, one man has managed to keep his cool. It is none other than the winner of the 2023 Players Championship- Scottie Scheffler. The victory was a hard fought and well deserved one.
After struggling for the first 2 rounds, Scheffler brought his A-game into the final round of the Players Championship. The first 2 rounds of the game did not seem to be going his way. But by the end, he was five strokes clear of the second place holder, and finished off on the 18th hole in style.
“This tournament feels like a major championship to me and this morning was tough,” said Scheffler. “I knew the conditions were going to get really hard late. I did a really good job of staying patient, not trying to force things, and then I got hot kind of in the middle of the round and tried to put things away as quickly as I could.”

Winning the Players Championship must have been a dream come true for Scheffler. He now becomes only the third man in history who has held the Players Championship and the coveted August nationals Master Championship at the same time. Needless to say, he is playing some of the best golf in the world right now
A dominant victory for Scottie meant that he reclaimed the world no. 1 spot which was held by Jon Rahm. He also secured a prize money payout of $4.5 million- his biggest paycheque from the $25 million prize purse. Scheffler took a victory over second place winner Tyrell Hatton, who had quite the game.
Hattonn shot a fantastic 7 under 65 to take the second place at the Players Championship.“Considering where I was at the start of the back nine, I was probably tied 34th or something like that, so if you had said that you would finish second in the tournament or tied second and you don’t have to play the back nine, I think you would take that,” said Hatton.
