Every professional player goes through a slump once in their career. Sometimes it could be hard to get back from this. This was the case with Alison Lee as she struggled to find her form on the golf greens. She has now opened up about the encouraging texts and supportive messages she received from Fred Couples.

The name of Couples could bring a little surprise to many. However, the 15-time PGA Tour winner has now seen his name in the spotlight as Lee credited him for her career revival. It is reported that the duo met each other at an Invitational Pro-Am in New York during September and played together. Since then the 64-year-old veteran has been helping her gain back the lost confidence.

The duo would later exchange numbers after opening up about their careers. Following this, the former Masters winner has texted her several times in trying to help her. He kept on sending her messages to believe in herself. It seems to have worked as Lee is currently riding high with confidence at the CME Championship. Alison Lee as per Golf Digest:

Alison Lee eyes first LPGA win following career resurgence

Winning a title in golf is not an easy feat. A player has to show off their composure through four rounds (three for LIV) in order to emerge victorious. In the ongoing CME Championship, Alison Lee has shown off the cool as she is tied for the lead. The Californian golfer is now hoping to claim her first LPGA Tour win in over nine years.

Lee has never tasted a singles win in her nine-year career so far. However, if there is any female golfer with momentum on her side then it’s her. She would shoot 8-under 64 on Friday to give her a share of the lead going into the moving day, with her eyes locked on the prize.

Since her meeting with Fred Couples, she has started to show off her true form. She has finished as runner-up in the BMW Ladies Championship and The Annika in South Korea and Florida respectively. Lee though tasted victory in a team tournament after being part of the winning team during the Aramco Team Series event at the Ladies European Tour.

The third time could be the lucky charm for her this weekend. She though would know better than anyone else that golf can change within a flash. There are around a half-dozen players within four shots of the lead at the top of the leaderboard. If Lee can continue her fine form in recent weeks, she could be celebrating a first career win this coming Sunday.
