The 2023 golfing season saw several ups and downs. As the merger announcement in June shocked the world, the tours seemed to have enjoyed another successful campaign. One could say the same about LIV Golf, as they finished the year in style. Now, Brooks Koepka appears to have trolled his own league. He did it due to the lack of information regarding the schedule for next season.
Koepka had a remarkable season, and he claimed two titles at the breakaway circuit. He also appeared bored as the season ended. The American golfer has taken to social media to take a shot at his own circuit.
Recently, LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman announced the return to Australia as the Grange Golf Club in Adelaide hosts another event. The reason for this resulted from the huge success it produced last time out. Apart from this, no other events have been confirmed.
On their official Instagram page, LIV Golf shared photoshopped DMs of several stars while asking the audience which message they would reply to first. Koepka would take to the comments section and write as per Sports Illustrated:
The Dm with the schedule for next year would be nice.Brooks Koepka via Instagram
This comment was later deleted, raising further questions among fans and experts regarding this action. Check out the comments he made on that and another post from the league below:
How did Brooks Koepka fare in the 2023 season?
While Brooks Koepka has to wait for an official announcement from LIV Golf regarding the schedule, his eagerness could be understandable. He had another great season as he continues his career resurgence. This has probably excited him for the next season, and he wants to start preparing for it early.
If there was any LIV golfer who had an incredible year, then it’s Koepka. While many could argue that Talor Gooch had a better year than him, as he even won the individual title, the 33-year-old Smash GC Captain had a year that will go down as one of the best of any LIV stars.
Not only did he claim two LIV titles, but he also became the first LIV Golf player to win a major championship. Koepka’s triumph at the PGA Championship in May gave his league the bragging rights over their rivals. It also turned out to be his fifth major title of his career.
Since that triumph, Koepka has taken part in the Ryder Cup, also becoming the only LIV member to be selected for the biennial tournament. He also defended his LIV title in Jeddah as he saw off Gooch in an intense play-off round.
The LIV Golf is set to introduce a transfer window for next season. This gives chances that Koepka could be teamed up with new teammates following his fallout with Matthew Wolff and the relegation of his brother Chase. He would hope to lead his team from the front again when the league returns to action in 2024. Until then, Koepka has to wait for an official announcement from his league.
