A week ago, a huge bombshell was dropped on the golfing universe when the PGA Tour informed about the agreement with LIV Golf. This sudden news came after the two tours decided to shake hands along with DP World Tour to bring peace and end the war between them. Naturally, it came out as a huge development for the golfers including current world number two, Jon Rahm who feels they have been “betrayed.”
The Spaniard has been one of the best players on this tour. The current Masters Champion was shocked like everyone else while finding out this. With the US Open coming up closer, Rahm mentioned that he still has faith in the management to do the right thing. However, he made it clear that he and some of his fellow members feel being stabbed by the PGA Tour.
At the press conference, he did not hold back. “I think the general feeling is that a lot of people feel a bit of betrayal from management. I understand why they had to keep it so secret,” Rahm mentioned while speaking ahead of the U.S. Open. The Spanish international later added that he was having a good time with his family at home when the news broke out.

Jon Rahm claims ongoing PGA-LIV merger talks hard for golfers to adjust
It has been more than a week since the unexpected partnership between the tours was announced. Apart from this untimely declaration from the tours, no official updates have been made. This had led to various unanswered questions. Jon Rahm later explained the situation has been hard for the players involved.
Rahm is not the only player to publicly speak about the merger. Rory McIlroy, who has been against the LIV league from day one, once again slammed the Saudi-backed tour. The North Irishman hoped that the LIV players get some sort of punishment for joining them. A couple of days ago, Australian Cameron Smith admitted that he thought the PGA-LIV merger talks was a “joke.”
Fans have now started to side with the PGA loyalists who declined to join the other tour. Meanwhile, golf great Tiger Woods has not made an statement regarding to this matter. His silence on his development is being closely observed. Woods along with McIlroy had not been shy to speak against Greg Norman and the LIV Golf in the past.
The golfing world now waits for an answer from Woods and the officials for further news. The next event – U.S. Open will see several LIV players take part with PGA members. Current PGA Champion Brooks Koepka has been paired with Rory McIlroy for the tournament. It will be interesting how these two cope with each other in the event.
