Justin Thomas shares grand plan with Patrick Mahomes if they win the Phoenix Open and Super Bowl together
Justin Thomas' plans to go to Vegas with Patrick Mahomes certainly seems like a fun one, as the golfer discussed on Super Bowl media day.
Patrick Mahomes and Justin Thomas
Super Bowl Media day was a fun one, especially for golfer Justin Thomas. Taking a break from golf talk, Thomas went to media day to find out plan of Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts. During this time he also revealed his big plans with star Patrick Mahomes if a certain win was to happen.
“Well, I met Patrick Mahomes at the F1 race in Miami last year and we joked that, they win the Super Bowl, I win the Waste Management, and we’re going straight to Vegas,” Thomas said talking about his plans with the Kansas City quarterback star. The two are certainly looking to go on an adventure together.
Of course, this adventure has to include a bit of golf. The NFL star might have to negotiate his ankle injury for a couple of shots on the course. This obviously brought on the question of Aaron Rodger’s handicap, which Mahomes quesitoned severely. “I heard Aaron let something negotiate his strokes out at Pebble Beach,” he said. “But I just heard that second hand. That’s not what I’m saying.”
Justin Thomas favourite to win at Phoenix Open, while Patrick Mahomes the underdog at Super Bowl
As for the trip with JT, a lot would have to go in the favour of him and Mahomes. Kansas City is the underdogs going into the playoff match. On the other hand, Thomas is a favourite to win at the 2023 WM Phoenix Open. Another event also stands in JT’s way, the Genesis Invitational.
“I’m not sure how that would be for my Genesis prep next week, or how that would be in terms of our agents, but I’d love to find out,” Thomas added. Justin Thomas stands at T16 right now going into the last day of the Phoenix Open. He has been having quite the journey. Thomas got viral for dropping the F bomb while he was mic’d up for the Open.
He apologised for it later, but it did not seem to go his way either. Now, Scottie Scheffler leads the Open at -13, while Nick Taylor and Jon Rahm are T2, at -11. Things are not looking good for Rory McIlroy who sits in T28 going into the last round of the event.
The Phoenix Open has been a wild ride till now to say the least. From beer cans to streakers, they have seen it all. A streaker ran through the famous 16th and 17th holes of the Open, before he decided to jump into the pond nearby and stand on the sign of the Sponsor, Waste Management. Yet, the competition is interesting, and people are waiting to see who will win.
