The dispute between the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf keeps getting bitter by each passing day. In a recent series of events, the Saudi-backed series filed a lawsuit against the PGA Tour calling their efforts ‘ anti-competitive’.
Greg Norman, the CEO of the LIV visited Washington to present his case to the Congressional leaders. Unfortunately for him, the meeting seems to have gone in a rather negative manner. Instead of being a positive meet, questions were raised on LIV’s violation of Foreign Agents Registration Act, calling it out a PR stunt just to carry on their commercial operation.
“Don’t come in here and act like you’re doing some great thing while you’re pimping a billion dollars of Saudi Arabian money and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the United States,” said Rep. Roy, talking about the meeting with Norman.

Greg Norman’s LIV Golf meeting did not go as planned
“We ought to be dealing with what we’ve got to deal with in our country, not with—worried about a bunch of Saudis, a bunch of billionaire oil people, are dealing with. A bunch of rich guys [are] not gonna play golf somewhere—it doesn’t bother me one bit. Federal government needs to stay out of that and just let these country clubbers handle their own game,” said Rep. Burchett, calling it a propaganda.
However, when asked to Norman, he had other things to say. “Not one person since I’ve been CEO has told me this is a bad idea. We’re a commercial operation. So we’re here just to grow the game of golf,” he said.
