The LIV Golf series and the PGA Tour are in a constant battle with each other. The LIV Series has been criticised severely for its new form of golf. From the uncut tournaments to the large prize purses, the LIV Golf series has captured the eyes of several golfers on the scene.

However, now the PGA Tour has also made changes to its upcoming 2024 rules and regulations, which has raised quite the few eyebrows. Many have especially accused the PGA Tour of copying the LIV Golf series. The PGA Tour has introduced several no-cut events with a reduced field of only 70- 80 people. They have also increased their prize purse to $20 million per event, which is quite a large jump.

As this comes across from the PGA Tour, the LIV Golf series made a bold statement. “Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Congratulations PGA Tour. Welcome to the future.” However, the point that the LIV series is trying to make might just be valid. The reactions on Twitter however, were mixed.

The PGA Tour changes come at a time where the LIV Golf series starts off on its second season. The LIV series might be on thin ice right now, but it could also be the defining moment for the change in the golf scene. However, many people believes that the success of the tour might lie on the success of its legal battles.

The changes by the PGA Tour will certainly be put to the test. There are supporters and then there are those who do not like the changes. Rory McIlroy has fiercely defended the changes made to the tour. On the other hand, golfers like James Hahn have vehemently disagreed with the choices that the PGA Tour has made. Only time will tell what is good for the tour or not.
