The ongoing talks regarding the shock merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf have taken everyone by surprise. On Tuesday 6th June, the tours decided to move forward together as one and end the war between them. Various players especially PGA members were left stunned by the thought of working with Saudi Arabia. The emergence of LIV Golf was met with immense fury. Several golf fans lashed out at the tour for breaking the game they love.

As per reports, the PGA loyalists like Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Tiger Woods, and others, are expected to receive some sort of compensation from the Saudis. The world of golf is still trying to adjust to the chaos created by the sudden merger announcement. The PGA players who turned down those huge money contracts will be rewarded with some compensation. As per reports, a “compensation fund” is likely to be set up. This fund will collect the money and hand it over to the likes of Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Tiger Woods, and others as a reward.

These players will be compensated for the money they missed while not joining the LIV. Meanwhile, the likes of Mickelson and DJ who jumped ships to LIV Golf will get to keep their money. How much will the loyalists of PGA earn is not disclosed as of yet. Speaking before the RBC Canadian Open, McIlroy admitted that he felt like a pawn used by the PGA and hoped LIV players receive some punishment.

Recently world number two Jon Rahm also did made his feelings clear. The Spanish international claimed that several members of the PGA are now finding it difficult to trust the board. However, the major concern has been the silence of Woods. The legendary golfer has chosen to stay silent and has not offered any official message or statement regarding the whole thing.
