The LIV Golf event has yet again gained attraction after Phil Mickelson, one of the leading spokespersons from the Tour came on record to fire a shot at the PGA’s participation list.
PGA Tour will fall short of some of the best players said Phil after the LIV poached a handful of talents, now suspended by the PGA. They include names like Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Cameron Smith.
The Saudi PIF-backed series – LIV Golf Tour has been muddled in massive controversy and makes headlines every day with its media presence. Moving forward, significant changes were introduced to keep players and fans hooked to the multi-million dollar tour, but its neck to neck with PGA just never ends.
Phil Mickelson joins LIV Golf vs. PGA Tour strife
LIV Golf has announced a new and improved stance in order to present a forward front post the human rights controversy. From signing new players, to shifting continents and considering streaming partners it hasn’t left a single stone unturned.
In a battling stance picked up by the PGA, it has also presented significant alterations while also upping its purse numbers. Phil Mickelson has only added fuel to fire by stating what actually seems to be factual at the moment. “Both are good for the game of golf, and the inclusion of LIV Golf in the ecosystem of the golf world is necessary”. “
As soon as that happens, we all start working together. It’s going to be a really positive thing for everyone,” Phil mentioned. Both PGA Tour and LIV Golf are different formats, but with LIV having solid funding, they have decided to shower $50 million at their team championship during the season closing, coupled with massive signing bonuses to update their player list.
While PGA has also unraveled quite a few changes, it has expanded its financial horizon to $20 Million dollars this instance in line with other alterations in upcoming events. The showdown rather subtle but evident has anyway gained fan interest and even with all the brawling, seems like a healthy competition is underway.
