“That’s some beefed-up rewards”: Here are the unbelievable prize money payouts for golfers at the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship- with Will Zalatoris topping the list
FedEx St. Jude Championship
The 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship came to quite an exciting end after Will Zalatoris picked up his first PGA Title in a wild playoff. Zalatoris took Sepp Straka in what can be described only as one of the most memorable playoffs of all time. After two very interesting play off holes, the third hole was like a roller coaster for Zalatoris. His shot barely carried the water, took a bounce on the bank and then several more bounces on the rock retaining wall before settling between the wall and the rough.
With Straka’s shot being nowhere near Zalatoris, he ended his play with a rather victorious bogey putt. Emotions were high, as it was a feeling the golfer could barely describe. Needless to say, the hard work paid off- not only getting Zalatoris his first ever PGA title win but also giving him a high payout that you might have to read twice to believe.
Here are the insane FedEx St. Jude Championship golfer payouts- and Will Zalatoris enjoys the biggest slice of the pie
The FedEx St. Jude Championship now comes as the first event, replacing the Northern Trust, of the FedEx Playoffs, which means that the payout is also significantly higher. While last years’ Northern Trust had prize money of $9.7 million, the St. Jude Championship this year is almost one and a half times compared to that- sitting at an impressive $15 million.
Will Zalatoris took home a whopping $2.7 million, while runner up Sepp Straka earned $1.635 million. Third place finished Lucas Glover won $885,000 along with Brian Harman. Adam Handgun, who finished 69th was the last player to get prize money- winning $31,050. Here is a list of the prize money payout for the top 10 of the FedEx St. Jude Championship this year.
