After much anticipation, Tiger Woods is back in action! After a lot of trouble and doubt, the legend is finally going to be back on course. He will be back to competition after 8 long months, and will be playing at the Genesis International, Riviera in Los Angeles. The tournament is known for its stong field, and a bigger purse of $20 million.
I’m ready to play an ACTUAL PGA Tour event next week,” Woods tweeted recently. While he was off, he played the PNC championship with his son. Since missing the cut at St. Andrews back in July, Tiger Woods will be back in action for the first time this year in 2023.
Not to mention, golf fans around the world were extremely excited to see Woods back in action once again. However, even more excited seemed to be his fellow golfers, who were happy to see Woods back in action. Golfer excited to see Tiger Woods back on course after 8 month long break
“He’s playing Riv? Nice. Well I didn’t know. Great to hear. Great to hear,” said Jon Rahm with excitement. “After all he’s gone through. It’s incredible that he keeps trying. Spoke to him at Bahamas. Everything he had on his leg and then you add the plantar fasciitis. I really feel for him in that sense,” said Jon Rahm, who currently sits second at the Phoenix Open.
“I’m just hearing that now. That’s exciting for us. It will be good to see him back out there next week,” said World no. 2 Scottie Scheffler, who is certainly excited to see the golfing legend on field. Another golfer who will look forward to seeing Woods on course will be Max Homa.
“That’s awesome. I imagine we’ll be carrying him down the hill on 1 and up it on 18. Which no one would mind. But it’s awesome. I’m really glad he’s back,” said Max Homa in quite a joking manner. “I think we’re privileged any time he plays now. One of my favorites. So I’m stoked to see him back out there. Yeah, he’s always remarkable. You never know what he’s going to do. So it will be fun to watch him play some golf.”
Other golfers who were happy to see him back on field include the likes of Tom Kim and Jason Day. “Did he? Oh wow that’s great, I did not know that. That’s awsome. That’s really good news!” said Jason Day in happiness. The field for Genesis International will be very strong, and now with Woods addition, very exciting as well!
