During the Phoenix Open, Tony Finau, a professional golfer, expressed his opinion to TMZ Sports about his peers who have moved to LIV Golf, a golf league funded by the Saudis. Finau’s allegiance is still with the PGA Tour, and despite the enticement of money, he is steadfast in his decision not to join LIV Golf.
Finau has expressed his longing for many of his former peers who defected to LIV Golf, including Brooks Koepka, who he considers one of his closest friends on tour. By staying true to the PGA Tour, Finau is able to compete against the top players worldwide and achieve a level of contentment that cannot be purchased with money.
Finau’s commitment to his peers, loyalty to his tour, and the gratification that comes from playing at the highest level are some of the essential values that override the lure of money. Although some players might find the promise of enormous wealth alluring, Finau has demonstrated that there are more significant things in life.

Finau remains cordial with his former tour peers, saying, “Yeah, I like them.” In fact, he even admitted to missing many of them. “A lot of the international guys I miss, Carlos Ortiz, Abraham Ancer,” he said, adding, “One of my closest guys on tour is Brooks Koepka, and I miss him a lot.”
Although he has not seen his tour mates for almost a year, Tony Finau’s performance on the PGA Tour remains exceptional. At present, he ranks 13th in the world and has an impressive record of three victories and eight top 10 finishes in his last 12 starts.
Finau’s friend on tour, Brooks Koepka, will take part in the LIV season in Mayakoba, Mexico next week, despite struggling in his previous two outings on the Asian Tour. Koepka missed the cut at the International Series last weekend and finished tied for 46th place at the PIF Saudi International.
Since joining LIV last summer, Koepka’s world ranking has fallen to 78th, his lowest in over 8 1/2 years, and he has only won one tournament. Conversely, Finau has accumulated more than $34 million in prize money on the PGA Tour and stands by his choice not to join his peers on LIV Golf.`
Finau’s remarks demonstrate his dedication to playing on the PGA Tour and his loyalty to friends who departed for LIV Golf. Despite missing them, he is unwavering in his choice to remain on the PGA Tour. Finau’s achievements on the tour reinforce his decision to not join LIV Golf, whereas Koepka’s recent struggles highlight the benefits of Finau’s decision.
