Tiger Woods dismisses LIV Golf's offer
In an interview on Monday night, LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman confirmed that Tiger Woods has turned down an offer between $700-$800 million to enter the LIV Golf Invitational Series. In an episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Norman further stated that LIV Golf approached Woods before he was named the CEO and the commissioner of the new circuit.
Norman told Carlson in an interview last week at the LIV Golf event held at Trump National Golf Club, “That number was out there before I became CEO”. “Look, Tiger is a needle mover, right? So, of course, you’ve got to look at the best of the best. They had originally approached Tiger before I became CEO. That number is somewhere in that neighborhood.”

During the long ongoing battle between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, Tiger Woods has been a constant supporter of the PGA and was one of the most vocal supporters in the war. As noted down on yardbarker.com, Woods backed R&A’s decision not to invite Greg Norman to last month’s Open Championship at St. Andrews.
Woods further commented, “Greg has done some things that I don’t think is in the best interest of our game, and we’re coming back to probably the most historic and traditional place in our sport. I believe it’s the right thing.” But he didn’t stop there and reprimanded the players who left PGA Tour for LIV Golf’s lucrative offer.
Woods said, “I disagree with it.” “What they’ve done is they’ve returned their back on what has allowed them to get to this position.” LIV Golf guaranteed players of contracts worth $100-$200 million with separate prize money at each event.

Norman lashed out that PGA Tour is a “monopoly” that has intentionally caused problems that resulted in LIV Golf altering its course. LIV Golf announced last week, that they will be expanding the series to 14 tournaments in 2023 with 48 players participating in a franchise for $405 million in pockets.
