The 2019 European all-around champion Melanie de Jesus dos Santos is making the move to Houston in order to train for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“I’m getting ready to leave for the US, because I’m going there to train. I wanted to come back here [at INSEP] to get back in shape, and now I’m ready to leave.” de Jesus dos Santos to olympics.com. Once she arrives in Houston, she will train under Cecile and Laurent Landi at the World Championship centre, who are Simone Biles‘ coaches.
Cecile represented France in gymnastics at the 1996 Olympics, while Laurent was a member of the French National team. Both of them are responsible for guiding Biles from 2017 up to the Tokyo Olympics. They have also worked with Jordan Chiles and Madison Kocian.

“I won’t train with Simone, because for her, gymnastics is a bit in stand-by mode right now, but with the American girls. My project is the Olympic preparation for Paris 2024, and I’ll come back [to France] for training camps and competitions,” she said.
Simone has yet to make her intentions about her future in the sport final, leaving the door for Paris wide open. Jordan Chiles on the other hand is currently competing at collegiate level and says that she plans to make her comeback to the World Championships and possibly the Olympics.
