In honor of the league celebrating its 75th anniversary, they had announced a list that named the top 75 players of all time. This list features legends from the past and game-changers of the present like Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Michael Jordan.
This list had received a lot of criticism for not including a few first-ballot future Hall of Famers and legends of the game like Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, and even Klay Thompson who were important pieces in their own right and shaped the game in various different ways.

A few days after announcing the final few players, a video surfaced on the internet that accused the NBA of removing Kyrie Irving from the list due to his unreliability and antics. Besides the fans, many players were also on the same wavelength of not agreeing with the list.

Draymond Green had opened about the top 75 players list after not being selected on to it. Green had said,” I think people wanted me to be pissed about it that I wasn’t on the list. Quite frankly, should I have been on a 75, I don’t know, I wasn’t on it I don’t care. It is not changing my day-to-day life.”
The three-time champ and former defensive player of the year seemed unphased with his name not being mentioned. But he felt the list could have been curated better including names like Tracy Mcgrady, Vince Carter, and Klay Thompson.

Joined by JJ Reddick, the veteran agreed with Draymond adding that the league should have re-evaluated the top-fifty list that was released 25 years ago on its 50th anniversary. According to both players, the league has progressed since the 1940s and the game of basketball has evolved into something more challenging.

Every era has witnessed a special talent that helped the game grow into what it is right now. Green said, “Back then Bob Cousy would literally dribble left with his right hand and spin around with his right hand. The only time you see that is in a Harlem Globetrotter game. I wish someone would dribble left with the right hand against me.”
Green explained with reference to his teammate Klay Thompson who was snubbed from the list. He even brought up an old-timer by the name of Dolph Schayes who was named top 75. Schayes was a 12-time all-star and 12-all NBA player with one title to his name. He said, “He should definitely be on the list somewhere, it’s not this one.”
