The 2009 F1 world champion driver with Brawn GP, Jenson Button, is hopeful to see Lewis Hamilton at his best in Hamilton’s battle with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Button believes that Hamilton will be back as a “recharged man” as the Mercedes driver and seven-time F1 world champion was on break from social media for over a month.

“I think for him it was a fantastic time to get away from the sport and relax and recharge. It doesn’t matter whether they’ve won the world championship or not, or lost the world championship on the last lap. He’ll come back a recharged man, and we’ll see the best of Lewis Hamilton,” said Button.

Lewis Hamilton was rumored to be retiring following the controversial call made by the race director Michael Masi during the 2021 season finale at Abu Dhabi. Hamilton was nowhere to be seen and was said to be considering retirement indirectly by many people, including Toto Wolff.

Jenson Button was part of the Brawn GP in the 2009 season of the sport. That year, many changes to the regulations were introduced. Brawn GP making the use of a loophole, made a car that gave Button an advantage over everyone else, making him the winner of the first six out of seven races of the season.

Commenting on the battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, the driver said, “He is one of the best guys that’s ever driven a Formula 1 car, and he’s going up against one of the best that’s ever driven a Formula 1 car. This battle, this doesn’t happen very often in Formula 1, so hopefully, we’re going to have a lot more of that in 2022.”

This is a really exciting time as a driver. They would have recharged their batteries, done all the training to get back in the car. But they will be so excited to see what that car gives them on the first day of testing,” said Button as quoted by GP Fans.

“And after the first run in testing, you will know how good the car is. There are things you can change and maybe aerodynamic devices aren’t working correctly,” concluded him.

Jenson Button, familiar with new regulations and changes introduced to a car, said he knew he had a good car, and similarly, drivers this year too would know if they’ll have a good year or bad.
