“He’s owned the field since his childhood”: Old video of Joe Burrow goes viral

Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow has been at his peak this season. Burrow led the Cinncinati Bengals to their first playoff victory since 1991. After crushing the No.1 seed in AFC, Tennessee Titans, 19-16, Joe Burrow made the Bengals’ to their first AFC Championship appearance in 31 years happen.

Burrow and the Bengals will face Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game on Sunday night. This is the 4th straight year the Chiefs have made it to the AFC title game. It will be a thrilling game to watch since it’s against two young QBs — Burrow vs Mahomes.

An old video of Joe Burrow was just viral. The video shows a very young Joe Burrow making plays and running the ball. Karin Johnson, a reporter for WLWT shared Burrow’s video on Twitter with the caption — “Before Joe Burrow was Bengal or played for LSU or Athens HS, he was making plays and running the ball like he owned the field. I met a former coach today who saved the tapes from @JoeyB’s 3rd and 4th grade years—when he started playing QB! @wlwt”

Joe Burrow has been an excellent QB since his little league days. The video shows Burrow throwing dimes, avoiding pass rushers, running the ball in the exact same manner as he does in the NFL. Burrow has owned the field since his junior years. The 25-year old QB has come a long way from throwing the ball in his 3rd grade to playing for LSU, winning the Heisman Trophy, and finally being selected No.1 overall by the Bengals in 2020.

Despite being sacked every other play, Burrow was 28-of-37 for 348 yards and 1 interception and managed an easy win against the Titans. Burrow was sacked nine times, tying Warren Moon in 1993 for the most times sacked in a playoff game and becoming the most-sacked quarterback to win a playoff game.

Joe Burrow has the most important game of his career ahead of him on Sunday night. If Burrow performs as he has in the postseason, the Bengals might have a real shot at the Super Bowl. The Bengals have to be extra careful against the Chiefs and have a substantial lead in the start and not give Mahomes a single chance to cover the deficit as he did against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round.
