The John Deere Classic 2024 is just around the corner. The winner of the 2024 edition will receive $1,440,000 from the total purse of $8 million. This represents an increase of $108,000 compared to last year. Sepp Straka took home $1,332,000 for his victory in the previous edition.

John Deere Classic will offer two spots in the upcoming Open Championship at Royal Troon later this month. This could be an added incentive for players to perform well at TPC Deere Run, apart from the purse.

The 2024 John Deere Classic will be played from July 4–7 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. The field of 156 players will compete on the par-71, 7,289-yard course. Field will include defending champion Sepp Straka, two-time winner Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, and Jason Day.

The John Deere Classic has seen a rise in its total prize purse over the years. The inaugural event in 1971 had a purse of just $25,000, with the winner, Deane Beman, earning $5,000. The purse passed the $1 million mark in 1990 and reached $2 million in 1999. It was $3 million in 2002 and $5.6 million in 2017 when Bryson DeChambeau won.

The purse has continued to grow, reaching $6 million in 2019 and over $7 million in 2022. For 2024, it has received a further increase to $8 million.
