“I am above you now” – Marlon Vera calls for a fight against former champion, Dominick Cruz

Marlon Vera recently demolished Rob Font at UFC Vegas 53. With this win Vera is now on a three fight win streak. In the winning run, Chito has managed to defeat Davey Grant, Frankie Edgar and Rob Font. However, the right question is what the future holds for the Ecuadorian fighter.
Vera certainly is aiming for the title shot but the path won’t be that easy and Vera certainly knows how to aim for the shot. While many fighters would go on vacation or so after such a dominating win, Vera on the other hand is calling out opponents to fight.
Moreover, this seems the most logical way considering the winning momentum he has now. Defeating a fighter from top 5 is not easy but Vera didn’t only defeat Font rather dominated him throughout his fight.
Marlon Vera gives an apt reason for Dominick Cruz to fight him
After the win Marlon Vera took to Twitter to call out Dominick Cruz for his next fight. It is to be reported that this is not the first time Vera called out Cruz. Last year Vera did the same but Cruz turned him down as he was looking for something bigger.
However, here take a look at what Vera on his official Twitter account while calling Dominick Cruz out:
After defeating Font Vera had proved that he can be in the top 5 of the rankings and Cruz being ranked 7th in the division has the benefit of fighting Vera. He has now no reason to turn down the call out.
Nevertheless, Cruz is yet to respond and hasn’t made any statements or replied after Vera’s call-out. It will be interesting to see if he accepts the call out or rejects it yet again.
