Carlos Sainz managed a P4 finish at the end of the recently concluded Italian Grand Prix, and afterward, has indicated that he is pleased with his outing but feels a bit was left on the table because of the late Safety car.

Carlos Sainz took penalties ahead of Ferrari’s home race and was pushed to the back of the grid, however, despite starting from P18 he was able to tear through the pack of cars and was able to land his F1-75 in P4.

The Spaniard had an impressive outing at Monza and while dwelling over his exploits via his Twitter handle wrote, “Good race! Felt comfortable and overtook cars quickly to climb to P4 early on. I would have fought for P3 without the SC or at the restart, but neither happened. I wanted a podium in front of you, Tifosi! Thanks for the support! We’ll keep pushing!”

Carlos Sainz has sounded somewhat pleased with his P4 finish, as in his opinion, he could have challenged for a podium place had the late safety car not come into action.

After the competition of the Italian Grand Prix, the 2022 F1 season is 16 races down and has only got 6 races left on the calendar. Moreover, Red Bull after securing another win with Max Verstappen has put further distance between themselves and the Maranello-based Ferrari F1 team.

Red Bull after 16 rounds has amassed a massive 545 points in the Constructors Championship whereas Ferrari has only got 406 points to show for their efforts.

With each passing Grand Prix, the Milton-Keynes-based team is cementing its position on top of both the Championships and it is going to be extremely difficult for Ferrari to make a comeback with only 6 races remaining.

However, everything is still not lost as there is still a very minute chance that Ferrari can get close to Red Bull, and for this to happen, Sainz and Co. need to pull up their socks and start putting in good results on a consistent basis. Whether they would be able to do it or not remains to be seen.
