However, there was more drama after the match, as Paul Gallen called out UFC star and fellow Aussie Robert Whittaker, much to the surprise of everyone. Paul claimed that he was ‘gonna beat him’ and ‘smash him’.

“I’m going to beat him like I beat Mark” – Paul Gallen

Speaking about the fight, Paul Gallen said, “He hit me with something in the second round and I don’t even know what it was. I didn’t even know if I hit the deck or not, but it got me real good. Thankfully I sucked it in. I saw that (Hunt showboating) — that was when I came to. He should’ve jumped all over me, that was his opportunity and you miss all the opportunities you don’t take. Thankfully he didn’t come for me and I came good.”

A super confident Paul Gallen, then called out Robert Whittaker. “I’ve got nothing but respect for Rob – I know him reasonably well – but I’m just going to beat him. I’m going to beat him like I beat Mark. I’m going to train hard and prepare for it. I’m going to have a good game plan. I’m just going to get in there and smash him,” he said. [via MMA Junkie]

Although, there is a very slim chance of the fight happening. It will be interesting to see how an unbeaten Paul Gallen will fare against a talented middleweight in the form of “The Reaper”.

Do you think the fight will come to fruition? Who do you think will win?
