‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung was considered the main contender for the Featherweight title before his fight with Brian Ortega. But Ortega snapped the title opportunity from the hands of Chan Sung Jung.

Now he is being booked to face the Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and Korean Zombie knows that he needs some more wins in his column before getting the much-awaited title shot.

In his latest interview with SpotVNews, Korean Zombie says, “I want to fight in April, If I play against any opponent, I can fight in January, but it seems that UFC is trying to match the opponent. So I am waiting for contact.”

“I’m not thinking about the champion or getting a title shot yet. I think first winning the upcoming fight will be the priority. I think I will play more than two games this year. First of all, the goal is to win both games.”

Before his loss against Brain Ortega, Korean Zombie won the Performance of the Night bonus in the last three of his five fights and one Fight of the Night bonus. With him staying in the division more awesome matches are surely coming on the way ahead.

Chan Sung Jung may face Zabit Magomedsharipov next

Zabit Magomedsharipov

The Russian Featherweight fighter Zabit Magomedsharipov is undefeated in UFC and he is currently ranked number 3 in the Featherweight rankings. Korean Zombie is ranked at number 5th and the news has been floating that they both may face each other next.

Alexander Volkanovski already made it clear that he isn’t interested in a trilogy with Max Holloway. So after Ortega, with a win over Chan Sung Jung, Zabit can get his title shot. But the Korean Zombie will definitely look forward to give him the first L of his UFC carrier.
