Four-time F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel will be creating history in the upcoming French Grand Prix as he will get to drive a hundre-year-old Aston Martin racecar that has a huge legacy attached to its name. The revolutionary car, which was the first-ever Aston Martin to compete in a Formula 1 Grand Prix, was last seen on the racetrack on 15th July, 1922. And now, with the Aston Martin team’s help, Sebastian Vettel will breathe new life into the car at the upcoming French Grand Prix.

This will not be Sebastian Vettel’s first time getting his hands on a historic car this month, as he recently drove Nigel Mansell’s 1992 Williams, which he bought sometime around 2020. The German had taken Nigel Mansell’s car around the racetrack at Silverstone a week ago the last F1 race in Austria. While Vettel is excited and is looking forward to driving the vintage Aston Martin racecar, he said he is amazed at the fact that such an old car with so much history to it even drives at all.

While Sebastian Vettel has already driven Nigel Mansell’s 1992 Williams, he is amazed that he has gotten the opportunity to even get his hands on Aston Martin’s first-ever Formula 1 racecar. Seb is one of the finest racers on the grid right now, and everyone believes it is befitting of the German to drive such a historic car on the track.

He also said, “I’m really looking forward to it, it’s a very old car and it will definitely be very different to drive than what I usually drive or what I know. In a way it has so much history in it and the fact that it still exists, drives and is in such good condition is great.”
