Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) played out a match for the ages in the Indian Premier League yesterday. The game was tied not once but twice. The game went to not one but two Super Overs. It took 44 overs to separate the two sides as they went neck and neck throughout the course of the match.

Batting first, MI reached 177/6 thanks to Quinton de Kock‘s fifty and Kieron Pollard‘s explosive hitting at the death. Chasing a competitive total, KL Rahul played a gem but didn’t have support at the other end. He then perished and Deepak Hooda and Chris Jordan could only tie the game.

The game went to a Super Over where Jasprit Bumrah nailed his yorkers for MI to restrict KXIP to just 5 runs. But KXIP’s Mohammad Shami bowled an equally good, if not better over to tie the match again. In the second Super Over, MI got 11 runs of Chris Jordan‘s over. Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal then ensured that they chased the total with ease.
