In what could be a positive development for Rajasthan Royals (RR) and its fans, Ben Stokes is likely to return to the squad in the first week of October. England’s World Cup hero withdrew in the middle of the series against Pakistan after his father was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Rajasthan Royals who are already looking like a dangerous force will further increase their squad depth with the arrival of Ben Stokes. He has been regularly hitting the nets and practicing hard at Christchurch where he is currently staying with his family.

Stokes left the Test series midway against Pakistan after the second match to spend time with his ailing father. Stokes completed his 14-day mandatory isolation period in New Zealand and was seen spending time with his family. Recently he has been hitting the nets to keep himself in the shape for theongoing IPL 2020.

The New Zealand born all-rounder is a vital cog in the Rajasthan Royals squad this season. As per the reports of Gulf News, Stokes will arrive in UAE by the first week of October. He is expected to play 10 of the 14 league matches.

The Royals who registered a comfortable victory over the Chennai Super Kings will face Punjab on 27th September. The contest between Punjab and Rajasthan will be an exciting one as both the teams are in a great shape.
