IPL 2020: “Bring it home for RCB” Gayle’s birthday wish for Kohli

India captain, Virat Kohli is celebrating his 32nd birthday today. Wishes for the ‘modern-day legend’ have been pouring him from around the world. Most of the birthday wishes also include ‘good luck’ messages for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper.

Although RCB had lost the last four matches, they managed to reach the Playoffs in the fourth position on the basis of the net run rate.

RCB has never won the IPL title but have finished as runner up for 3 times. This year, Kohli would be looking to break the drought.

RCB will clash against Sunrisers Hyderbad (SRH) in the Eliminators on Friday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The winner of this match would have to win against the loser of the Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) match to progress to the finals.

Former RCB teammate Chris Gayle has wished Virat Kohli on his birthday telling him to “bring it home for RCB“.

Chris Gayle was a part of RCB when they last made it to Playoffs in 2016. In the 2016 IPL final, RCB locked horns with SRH who put up 208 runs from 20 overs on the score board at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Gayle, who led RCB’s chase, gave a befitting reply with 38-ball 76, which included 8 sixes. However, his efforts didn’t find fruition as RCB lost by 8 runs.

The Eliminator clash on Friday will be a 2016 IPL final repeat. Since the last few editions, Gayle is the part of Kings XI Punjab team in the IPL. Whether Kohli is able to bring it home or not will be seen.
