IPL 2020: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) Preview, Probable XI, Head-to-Head and Fantasy 11

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in match 53 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The two sides will lock horns at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on November 1 (Sunday) from 3:30 PM (IST) onwards. This game will be a day encounter of the last double-header of the 13th edition of IPL.

Last time when these two sides met, MS Dhoni and co thrashed KXIP by ten wickets at Dubai. CSK openers Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson slammed 87* and 83* respectively to clinch the game for their side.  

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

With just five wins in 13 matches, Chennai Super Kings occupy the last spot in the Points Table. With this, they have also become the only team thus far to be eliminated from the race of playoffs. But CSK registered comprehensive victories against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous clashes. 

The MS Dhoni-led side will play for pride in today’s game but they can hamper KXIP’s chances of qualification. CSK made several changes in their playing XI in the previous clash, and they might continue with that combination against KXIP too.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)

Kings XI Punjab will face CSK in a must-win encounter to stay alive in the race of qualification for the playoffs. KXIP suffered a one-sided defeat against Rajasthan Royals, putting an end to their five-match win streak.  

KXIP batsmen played well in that game but their bowing unit looked flat. A win in this game will help them reach 14 points to hold the fourth spot in the charts. Even if they win this game, KL Rahul’s men want a few other teams’ results to go in their favour.
