IPL 2020: Chris Gayle becomes first player to hit 1000 T20 sixes

Chris Gayle came up with a vintage explosive knock for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to flatten the Rajasthan Royals (RR) bowlers and take his side to a score of 185. The knock also saw him hit his 1000th six in T20s. No other player has reached the mark.
RR had earlier won the toss and elected to field first in the match. They got off to a dream start as Jofra Archer dismissed Mandeep Singh for a golden duck. However, fellow opener KL Rahul joined hands with No. 3 Chris Gayle and the duo were involved in a terrific partnership. After Rahul’s dismissal, it was Nicholas Pooran who joined his fellow West Indian batter. Gayle kept hitting the RR bowlers around the park as he kept hitting boundaries and sixes at will. He ended up one run short of a century but had done the damage with a whopping 8 sixes to take his side to a total of 185.
Gayle leads list of most T20 sixes, No other player remotely close
Chris Gayle leads the list of players with most T20 sixes with a whopping 1000. His fellow West Indian Kieron Pollard is second on the list with 690. Brendon McCullum is third on the list with 485 while Shane Watson and Andre Russell are fourth and fifth with 467 and 447 sixes respectively.
