Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma is all set achieve another milestone when he will lead his team in the IPL 2020 Final. MI will clash against the determined Delhi Capitals (DC) led by Shreyas Iyer.

Rohit started his IPL career with Deccan Chargers. He represented the one-time champions for three years. He was bought by MI in the 2011 auction. He has been with them ever since. The 33-year-old was named captain of MI after Ricky Ponting stepped down in 2013.

Sharma has won the team four title victories in a span of just seven years. He has proved himself to be one of the most successful skippers in the history of IPL.

Should MI defeat DC in the final today, they will become only the second team after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to successfully defend the trophy. They will also win a record-extending 5th IPL title if they were to win today. A feat that hasn’t been achieved by any team in IPL so far.

With 5162 runs, Rohit Sharma is IPL’s fifth-highest run-scorer. He has hit one century and 38 half-centuries in the league.

Today, Rohit Sharma will become only the second player to have played in 200 IPL matches. MS Dhoni achieved this feat in the ongoing season.

It is to be noted that Sharma missed a few league stage matches due to hamstring issues or else he would have completed 200 matches a couple of weeks back. In total, Sharma has missed 6 matches- one for Deccan Chargers and 5 for MI.

Following Dhoni and Rohit on the list of most capped players is Dinesh Karthik, he has played 196 matches for various franchises. With 193 caps, Suresh Raina sits at the fourth spot. He skipped IPL 2020 due to personal reasons. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli sits at the fifth spot with 192 caps.
