Defending champions Mumbai Indians registered a brilliant victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore in match 48 of IPL 2020 on Wednesday. During the game, MI all-rounder Hardik Pandya had a heated argument with RCB all-rounder Chris Morris in the second innings.

The incident took place during the 19th over where Mumbai Indians required only 17 runs more to win the game. With the score down to 14 needed in 15 balls, Hardik Pandya smashed a six off Chris Morris. The verbal war began here as the batsman shared a few words with the bowler.

However, in the next delivery, the South African pacer backed himself to claim Pandya’s wicket after a mistimed lofted drive. The ball went straight to the extra cover where Mohammed Siraj completed a diving catch. While departing towards the pavilion, the duo engaged in a verbal spat where Pandya also pointed his finger towards Morris.

Pandya and Morris admitted to Level 1 offence

Both Hardik Pandya and Chris Morris were reprimanded for breaching IPL’s code of conduct. Morris admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. On the other hand, Pandya admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.20 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.

“Chris Morris, the Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder, has been reprimanded for breaching the Dream11 Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Mumbai Indians at Abu Dhabi,” read a release by the BCCI.

“Mr Morris admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.

“Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians all-rounder, has been reprimanded for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Abu Dhabi.

“Mr Pandya admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.20 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.

“For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the statement concluded.
