Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav impressed all with his consistent performance during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Batting at number three for his side, the 30-year old smashed 480 runs in 16 matches, averaging 40. Yadav played a crucial role in his side’s fifth title victory in the history of the tournament, finishing as the third-highest run-getter for them.

Former Australia cricketer Tom Moody also appreciated the MI player after his impressive season in IPL 2020. The 55-year old was also left shocked after Yadav was not picked for the national team.

“Suryakumar Yadav from Mumbai Indians, coming at No. 3, it is just mind-blowing to think that this guy has not represented his country. He bats with great grace, control and he seems to do it without breaking a sweat. To me, he’s a real class act,” Moody said during a show on ESPNCricinfo.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir also hailed Suryakumar Yadav for his stroke-making ability during IPL 2020. The left-hander called him a ‘class’ player for the way he scored runs for the season winners Mumbai Indians

“My player of the tournament would be Suryakumar Yadav because he batted at No. 3 which is a very crucial position and the way he batted. It’s not only about runs, but it’s also not because he is part of a champion team. It’s just the way he got those runs – with fluency. It was just sheer class, and that’s why he is the player for me,” said Gautam Gambhir on ESPNCricinfo.
