IPL 2020: Kagiso Rabada breaks record after DC register victory over RR


Delhi Capitals (DC) star bowler Kagiso Rabada broke Vinay Kumar’s Indian Premier League (IPL) record of taking at least one wicket in most consecutive innings in the tournament. He achieved the record during the clash between DC and Rajasthan Royals in the 23rd game of IPL 2020 on Friday (October 9).
Kagiso Rabada has picked atleast one wicket in the last 20 IPL matches. He has become the 2nd most consistent bowler in the history of the League. In the list of highest wicket-taker of IPL 2020, Rabada holds Purple Cap with 15 wickets to his name.
Most number of consecutive innings for a bowler taking at least one wicket in IPL:
- 27 Dwayne Bravo (2012-15)
- 20 Kagiso Rabada (2017-present)
- 19 R Vinay Kumar (2012-13)
- 17 Lasith Malinga (2015-17)
The South African pacer so far, scalped 15 wickets in 6 IPL 2020 matches with best figures of 4/24 with a decent economy rate of 7.50 for Shreyas Iyer-led side.
Rabada holds the Purple Cap while Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah grabbed the second position in the list with 11 wickets. Delhi clinched a grand victory against Rajasthan Royals in the match 23 of IPL 2020 by 46 runs to go on top of the points table.
