IPL 2020: Kane Williamson is ‘Happy’ as IPL is going ahead despite the COVID-19 pandemic

Former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson is very excited as the IPL is set to kick off from September 19th. Expressing his excitement, Williamson said that everyone out there would be as excited as he is for IPL 2020.

Kane Williamson arrived in UAE from New Zealand on 3rd September and is now in quarantine. With 13 members of CSK camp testing positive for the virus the safety protocols have been further made strict.

The New Zealand skipper is pretty much excited about IPL 13. Kane Williamson can train with his teammates if he tests negative three times for COVID -19.

Kane Williamson expressed his excitement in a video posted by the Youtube Channel of SRH. In the video Kane said, “It is great that IPL is going ahead and all the players can get over to Dubai and quarantine and then start looking forward to playing some cricket. I know for everybody out there, it’s been a long time between any sort of normality so it is a very exciting opportunity.”

When asked how he would spend his time in isolation, Williamson said: “I’m sure it will be a longish six days, but it will be fine at the same time. I am looking forward to catching up with all the guys. I will make sure I get through some fitness and exercise and do a bit of reading. Let’s see where the quarantine takes me, I will start acclimatising, I suppose.”

Kane Williamson is excited for IPL 2020

The 13th edition of IPL will kickoff from September 19 till November 10 in the UAE across three venues – Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah respectively.
