Sunrisers Hyderabad continued with their winning streak in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 with a nail-biting victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chasing a tricky total of 132 in a knockout clash, SRH clinched the game in the ultimate over. RCB bowlers gave a tough fight to their opponents but Kane Williamson and Jason Holder stayed till the end to take their side home.

SRH skipper David Warner also appreciated Williamson, calling him the ‘banker’ of the Orange Army. He leapt praise for Sunrisers’ leading bowler, Rashid Khan. Warner mentioned that the Afghan spinner is always under pressure to perform in each game that SRH plays.

Kane is our banker. He manages to stick in there and plays the pressure innings. I am running out of superlatives for these two blokes (Rashid and KW). With the class of the batting line up (speaking about how RCB’s batsmen struggled), you knew that wicket had something in it. The boys bowled fantastically well in the middle overs,” David Warner said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

“As we knew we had to beat the top three teams to make it into the play-offs. My nails are okay for the moment. They (Natarajan and Rashid) have been of great impact for us. We like to bowl Sandy and Holder five overs at the top. Then we try to bowl Rashid and Natarajan in the middle overs. Rashid has a lot of pressure on him to perform,” he added.

‘Delhi’s a world-class bowling side’

Sunrisers Hyderabad will lock horns with Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 2

Sunrisers Hyderabad will now face Delhi Capitals in the second qualifier on November 8 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Warner admitted that DC has a world-class bowling lineup but he is excited about the game against them. In the end, the Aussie also congratulated T Natarajan as his wife delivered a baby on the morning of the matchday.

“It is too early to say. We obviously have Delhi to play. We have been talking about their world-class bowling side. But I am excited.

“Congratulations to Natarajan and his wife, they had a baby this morning. What a gift for the little one,” Warner signed off.
